when will Uranus eclipse Pisces Epsilon?
Posted by jknbt on Saturday, October 05, 2013 3:34 PM

Hello--  when will the planet Uranus eclipse or occult the star Pisces Epsilon, which is on the epileptic?  It looks like it will be sometime in 2014.  Which night exactly would be the best for viewing this?

also, how would a person go about researching this for himself?  Is there astronomy software out there that will show planetary movements for a future date?

any help appreciated.

What gave you the idea that Unranus would occult Epsilon Piscium?

The two really never come particularly close to one another in the immediate future. However, there will be two conjunctions between these bodies in the next couple of years. The first will occur about late June 2014, the second in April of 2015. On each occasion they will be about 2 degrees appart at their closest.

Most any commercial planetarium program can generate accurate information of this sort.
