After the eclipse peaked I took down my telescopic gear. That's when I got this shot of my mom, my youngest brother and myself, reflected in a Thousand Oaks solar filter, with the eclipse shining through the filter in the center of the image.

Sequence of images (five minute intervals) taken at Whiskeytown Lake, near Redding, California. Thin clouds created a reddish effect on one image about a half hour before maximum eclipse. Thick clouds obscured the sun completely from about a half hour after maximum eclipse until a break in the clouds...
