The image shows the progression of the partial eclipse of the Sun beginning from the maximum eclipse up to the final phase as seen by Philippine observers last May 21, 2012. It was taken using a hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH2 digital camera on a Galileoscope with Baader 5.0 ND solar filter.

Took this shot with a simple Sony Cybershot, at full zoom, with no filter. While uploading to my computer later, I noticed the reflected image of the eclipse against the background of a cypress tree. A very cool optical effect that I was just lucky to catch!
