Mars approaching opposition 2018 - composite image

This is a composite image of Mars from five separate imaging sessions: 29 June, 6 July, 13 July, 21 July, and 27 July (opposition). One can see the effect of the dust storm which appeared to have peaked around 13 July and has been progressively subsiding since. Equipment: Orion SkyView Pro 180mm Maksutov-Cassegrain, Orion StarShoot 5MP Solar System Camera, EZ Plan Cap software, Celestron 2x Barlow. Processing: Registax 6, Photoshop.
