Sharpless 289

Sh2-289 (LBN 1014) is a HII region located in Monoceros. Distance estimates seem to be all over the place at 18,200 to 33,000 light-years away.

Ha – 25x1800s – 750 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

870 minutes total exposure – 14 hours 30 minutes

Ha captured from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (a red zone) over nine nights in November, 2018 and January and February, 2022. RGB captured at the Danville Conservation Area (New Florence, Missouri) on February 27th, 2022. All imaged with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
