Sh2-120 + 121

Sharpless 120 is the small, red HII region above and to the right of center.

Sharpless 121 is the small, red HII region just above and to the left of center.

The large dark nebulae along the right side of the image is designated as LDN 966, 971, 978, 982 and more.

Sh2-120 and 121 are both located approximately 27,700 light-years away in Cygnus.

Ha – 32x1800s – 960 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

1080 minutes total exposure – 18 hours

Imaged from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri (a red zone) over six nights in August and September, 2020 with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
