The image is a 4 degree x 4 degree section of sky within the Constellation Gemini. It was captured utilizing a Takahashi FSQ106ED refractor telescope. It is the first light with an FLI MicroLine 16803-65 ccd imaging camera. The above left of the image shows the Jellyfish Nebula (IC443). It is a supernova remnant from an explosion that took place over 30,000 years ago. The bright star next to IC443 is Propus.
The bottom right is the emission nebula NGC2174 which contains the open cluster NGC2175. The nebula is commonly referred to as the monkey head. The small spherical object north of NGC2174 is Sh2-247.
Guiding for the image was provided by an off-axis guider using the SX Lodestar and the Astrodon Monster MOAG. Emission-line filters used were the Astrodon 5nm. The mounting used is an AP Mach1 GTO.
