The Tadpole Nebula (IC 410)

This is an image of IC 410, also known as the Tadpole Nebula. It is about 12,000 light years away in the constellation of Auriga. It spans more than 100 light years and is formed from radiation from the open cluster NGC 1893.

December 25 and 26, 2011

Location: Rancho Hidalgo, NM

Telescope: TEC-140 (F7)

Camera: SBIG ST-8300M

Mount: AP900 GTO

Luminance: 22x10 minutes (binned 1x1)

Red: 12x10 minutes (binned 2x2)

Green: 12x10 minutes (binned 2x2)

Blue: 12x10 minutes (binned 1x1)
