The Rosette is one of the most massive nebula in our night sky. It mis estimated to be about 4,900 ly away, and surrounds star cluster NGC 2244. Photograph taken Dec 23, 2009, from Harrisburg, Pa with DSI 3 camera & AstroTech 66 ED APO refractor with F.5 Moog focal reducer piggybacked on a 14" LX 200 ACF Scmidt Cassegrain telescope. Twelve two minute exposures in Envisage, and processed with AstroArt 3.0.
