Saw a bright flash in  the sky. it started small,grew bigger and brighter and then faded again. A super nova mayhaps?? second one i saw. what is it???????

A nova doesn't behave quite like that.  Your "flash" had too short of a time span and way too bright.  You said it was the second one you saw.  Were these in the same night?  If so, then I don't think you would see two novae. Maybe we could track down the brightest if you give us some information.  What is your city/state, exact time and sky location of this occurrence?  Seems more like iridium flares which are predictable and logged on various web sites.

These events were most likely "flares" from Iridium or other satellites.
