Rhonda,
Maybe I'll see you there! I got to see a comet last night, and the Bubble Nebula! I am looking forward to broadcasting myself one day there!
If you care to share your user name, I'll probably see you there! Mine is star57. I just signed up for broadcasting, and hope I will be able to figure out how to do it....lol
RHONDA That sites brilliant Donna, have registered. There was only one person online but what I saw was really exciting. Will definitely be looking in frequently. Thanks, Rhonda.
I just told BAZ my user name in Night Skies.....it's star57 If you see me, say "Hello"!!!
Hi Donna,
My user name is just the usual RHONDA.
Have taken note of yours and BAZ. Your so brave,
I would just clam up as I once went on a radio station
to talk about animals and was practically struck dumb,
it was so embarrassing.
Speak later, getting ready for work.
It does look interesting. It could work well if you previously had arranged for an online friend to join you.
It could be fun if you were presenting a single event like an eclipse or something. I'd be a little concerned if things went wrong. It is one thing to make of a mess of things on your own. Quite another to have dozens of others witnessing it !!
Why do they want to know your phone number, I wonder?

I wondered about the phone # also, I gave them "a" number. Could be that if a moderator is notified of a broadcast problem thy could contact the broadcaster.
EASY DUDE, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER WAVE
From San Diego, Zhumell Z10 (Bubba is for all around observing)Telrad, Vixen VMC110L on a Porta Mount II, Bushnell 10x50 (for beach) Garrett 10x50 classics (for Sylvia), Zhumell 80x20 on their Pro tripod(cuz they were cheap and sylvia digs 'em), 1.75 readers (so I can find the other stuff)
Well, that's easy to remember! LOL....I didn't call in.....maybe another time. I did enjoy listening though!
Hi Aratus,
LOL....I can relate, but I'm going to give it a try anyway...I don't think too much can go wrong, specially if you're all set up, and then connect. I will start with something easy, like the moon.
D
Aratus,
PS.....yeah, that is strange about the phone number.....
Ken,
I don't think they give out your phone number...or at least I HOPE not....
It mentions this
( Night Skies Network will never sell or give your personal information out to any one or any organization. It will be kept for legal reasons only. Your information will be kept private and known only to NSN. )
In the end there is nothing that can be done other than to trust the organisation. A similar promise is made by Kalmbach upon becoming a member of the Astronomy website. (They don't ask for phone numbers though)
If anyone gets this up and running I'll certainly 'look in'. I will have to stay up late for some of you though!!
Well, if I start getting weird phone calls, I'll know RIGHT where to go! I think I'll ask about this on the site....I can also contact the person who set me up with a broadcast channel...
