Woop Woop...after a 3 month long wait its finally here, my Orion XX12i and of course forecast calls for rain next 3 days. Will post first light report when I get a window to use it. Until then I'll just sit here and stare at it.

Can't wait to hear about your experience with it.  I'd like a big one of those Dobs to compliment my small refractor.  One question, in reference to NASA's light polution map.  What "color" do you live in?  My skies, being in the NYC suburbs are pretty bad, I am on the Red to Orange border, but am only a few (20-30) miles from darker skies.

Same for me here in Houston, for most nights my naked eye limiting magnitude is ~ 4. This was one reason for steping up from 8" to 12". But our family farm about 20 miles away have decent dark skies. If I remember correctly we are in the red at my home.

Wow, you consider your 120mm a small refractor?
