After a whirlwind Los Angeles trip to visit telescope manufacturers Celestron and Meade last week, this week has turned crazy because of TV appearances to discuss the already very popular 500th issue of the magazine. Our March 2015 edition, packed with “500 coolest things about space,” is really pleasing readers, grabbing the attention of youngsters, and creating a bit of a splash.

I will be delighted to be discussing it on several TV shows this week:

• Tues., Feb. 3: WISN TV, Channel 12, in Milwaukee, discussing the issue and Astronomy magazine in general.

• Tues., Feb. 3: “The Morning Blend” with Tiffany Ogle and Molly Fay, TMJ4, Milwaukee.

• Tues., Feb. 3: taping segments for Fox News Edge, which will appear on Fox Network affiliates around the United States.

• Thurs., Feb. 5: WFLD-TV, Fox Chicago, discussing the issue and the magazine in general.

This will not be a slow week, and next week I will be leaving along with Senior Editor Michael Bakich for a Tucson trip. In Arizona, we will produce a major story about the Flagstaff observatories and institutions, put on our annual big Tucson public star party with Pima Community College, and cover the enormous meteorite activities at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

See you there!
