Real Reality Show starts on

A couple weeks ago, I started a series of videos about astronomy and space that are meant to cut to the chase with some current topics that are going on in the field. The first week, I focused on some big news events of the last week of March — the cosmology discovery about inflation, gravitational waves, and so forth. Last week I discussed the distance scale of the solar system, with a chart and a walk down the hall displaying relative distances.

You can find the first episode here.

And the second episode here.

I’m trying to make these a bit funny and catchy, something you might want to watch for a couple minutes on social media. I’m also reacting to some bloopers in the way news is being reported. The dwarf planet discovery of last week, for example, was claimed by some organizations to have “reset the distance scale of the solar system.”

Not exactly.

So anyway, I hope you enjoy these episodes of The Real Reality Show. I’ll be continuing them every week or every other week, as time permits. Stop on by and check them out, and let me know what you think.

You can find me on Facebook, by the way, and also follow me on Twitter at @deicherstar.

Have a great weekend!
