Thanks Rhonda! I DO have determination, just not the right gear at the moment. LOL I have been waiting all my life for this so a month or two will be ok. Like I said I will work on brighter objects for now. :-)

RayM0506

Just Starting out.
RayM0506
Ok, nothing compared to some of the other images here, BUT I am closer to accomplishing my dreams of shooting the sky. Turns out I need a new mount as I RUSHED into getting the nexstar 8 se. I have an Equatorial Wedge BUT the drive was just not meant to carry the equipment load. I am saveing to get into...

RE:The best I can expect from this mount.
RayM0506
Poppa Chris There was an Astronomy article in "imaging the Cosmos" around February that decribed how to take a blown out part of a picture and, using layers, overlay a portion of it with better detail. They used the M31 galaxy as the example, where when the image was exposed enough to get...

shstar56 I think you did tell me this before, because for now, I will be working with the fork mount as well. I'd be thrilled to get images even close to yours! I have not yet used my DSI II, but plan on starting soon, as the cooler weather had moved in! I'm really looking forward to getting...

Ok, M-27 20x 25 sec ISO 1600. I am TRULY Shocked by the amount of data I am picking up in these short exposures! I can only imagine how GREAT it will be once I upgrade my mount!

The best I can expect from this mount.
RayM0506
Ok, used all the tricks I could to get this image. Compared to MOST here this is nothing, BUT it took about 2 1/2 hours to get 37 captures to work with! Considering that the longest exposure is 30 sec, that was a LONG time. LOL That seems to be the best exposure time I could get out of the single arm...

Double Cluster
RayM0506
Ok, still trying to figure out the new CG-GT. Thanks to some GREAT advice from Tkerr and SKiB, I was able to line it up MUCH better then I have before! Thanks so much guys. The goto was much better when I used "percise goto". I have to use EXTREMLY high power to get it acurate until I get an...

Mars 04-17-2012
RayM0506
A shot of Mars. I am VERY pleased with this image. I THINK if you look closely at the lower left there is sort of a bluish haze obscuring the surface details. I THINK they are Martian clouds. Anyone with more knowledge then me out there can let me know??? Also of note is the polar cap. Stats: 1/5...

Just a few images
RayM0506
Just a collection of some of my images. Since the scope is down for repairs and has been for over a week I can't do anything new. So I have just been looking at older images and trying to see if I could push them for more details.
