I thought I would come back to the present for this shot. Since it is the time of the Realm of Galaxies, I thought I would share my shot of an object that you really can't wear on your head. 13x5 min shots thru 12"SCT @ f/10. This was supposed to be a 2 hour imaging session but trouble plagued my mount and I managed only 65 mins. Ugh!!....I can't seem to win. Another object that could really use at least 2 hours. Still, I always liked this galaxy.....M104....The Sombrero Galaxy and if nothing else, its always cool to see it again ( at least I like to think so)

Very nice. I see you are still up to your usual level of quality pics. Give us more!

Thanks Poppa Chris. I wasn't too sure about how good this one really was but I like the object enough that I felt it was worth posting. I honestly have a whole bunch of stuff I can post still but I was concerned that I would overdo this and you guys would get bored with my stuff.......lol...I llike to hope not but......
Uh....maybe I need to get a life or something

It is a great object to view, but not the best from my yard with my smaller scopes...quite a bit of LP in that direction, so I wasn't too sure if I would even get a usable image......turned out better than expected I guess. It is an amazing object thru my new 16" scope thats for sure, even with the LP....it seems to cut right thru it.
I am glad you like the shot Tower3,and besides, carrots are good for your eyes.
slick750 Uh....maybe I need to get a life or something
Heck! Who needs a life? From my perspective its a bit overated anyway!
Another incredible image! Very well done! Keep em coming!

LOL! Maybe I just need to take my mind off imaging for while. One thing I need to do is work on a new means to transport my 16" around.....it needs to be more mobile than it currently is. Nothing is every easy.....sheesh!
Well, I hope things are getting better out your way Poppa Chris!
Thanks Ray! Glad you like the shot, although I still think it looks more like a pith helmet. Somehow, I don't think that will ever catch on do you? The Pith Helmet Galaxy.........nah.... not very catchy I guess.

I got it in my scope last Summer when it was just 10 degrees directly below Saturn 1 night right on the meridian. It was minute, but still easy enough to see the bright central bulge and the dust lane.
Cool image Mike. certainly the heaviest hat i know of. It would certainly keep the rain off you, but it would give you a very sore neck!

Even though you did not get as much time on this image as you wanted it still turned out very nice. It is a pleasure to see some good work again even if you believe you could have done better. If we all waited to post something that was "perfect" in our own eyes then there would be precious little for others to see on this site at all!
Thanks for the nice view.
