Home Page Flash Image Misalignment
Posted by stars4life on Thursday, September 26, 2013 9:02 PM

The "Tonight's Sky" flash app in the header on the Astronomy Magazine home page goes a little weird if my monitor is set to anything other than 100%. I run at 125% because I have a wide screen and bad eyes...

The most noticable side effect is that the moon's shaded part in the phase icon become disconnected from the lit part. The shadowed area stays the same pixel size while the lit surface magnifies according to the screen setting. This creates a strange yet styistic looking representation of the moon's phase.

It didn't use to do this...

I'm just sayin... ya know?
