Wormed?
Posted by leo731 on Wednesday, January 01, 2014 2:42 PM

I am getting a annoying pop up window from a survey site when I am navigating here.  It just shows up randomly and not all the time.  It doesn't show up elsewhere and I ran a scan on my system that didn't catch anything.  Is it just me or did a worm or virus sneak into the site here?

I'm not getting it.

Check your Pop-up Blocker settings under your Privacy heading.

(I use Internet Explorer.)

Depending upon your type of Internet Security,

there is also 'Anti-Banner' which may be of some help.

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.

Thanks Stan.  Turns out it was a virus infecting Yahoo.  Since it was in the search engine my security couldn't recognise it.  Yahoo cleaned its system up and they have dissapeared.  I read that this was not just spam but some pretty nasty internet rip offs being popped up.
